Mr. Paronto was part of the CIA annex security team that responded to the terrorist attack on the US Special Mission in Benghazi, Libya on September 11th, 2012. He helped save over 20 lives while ghting o terrorists from the CIA Annex for over 13 hours. Mr. Paronto’s story is told in the book 13 Hours written by Mitchell Zucko and his ve surviving annex security team members.

GREEN BERETS
Speaker: Jeff Houston, John Wayne Walding
Jeff served as a Green Beret with US Army Special Forces, completing service in 2009 after multiple combat deploy- ments to Iraq. After Jeff’s time in the Army, he completed his bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from the University of Colorado – Denver. While in school, he started a firearms training company and a security consulting/ personal security detail (PSD) company.
SFC (R) John Wayne Walding spent 12 years in the U.S. Army with 7 of those years being in 3rd Special Forces Group at Ft. Bragg NC. He has combat deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan. During his career at 3rd SFG he worked on ODA 396/3336 as a SF operator and at the Sniper Detachment as a Sniper instructor. His military school experience includes: Special operations Target interdiction course, Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat, 3rd SFG Advance Sniper, Special Forces Qualification course, and Airborne and Air assault.

THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER
Speaker: Glenn Howland
Glenn enlisted in the US Navy graduating from Nuclear Power Training Pipeline in March 1983. Assigned to Submarine NR-1 as a Temporary Crew Member for 6 months and qualified in submarines. Transferred to Submarine NR-1 and assigned to Electrical Division. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering Technology and presently works at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in the Electrical Engineering Division.

Speaker: Will Evans
A Native Dallasite, Will retired from CBRE in 2010 after 25 years in the commercial real estate world. Will is a U.S. Marine Veteran, who is an avid historian and a significant collector of Militaria, particularly related to pre-1920 Marine Corps artifacts. Will participated in the reenactment of the 225th Anniversary of the American Revolutionary War.

This is the 50th anniversary of THE DIRTY DOZEN (1967) and SMU film professor and film novelist Rick World will talk about about this Academy Award winning film loaded with a star-studded cast including Lee Marvin, Ernest Borgnine and Charles Bronson.
